A note on GST and HST for clinics
Most health, medical, and dental services performed by licensed physicians and dentists are exempt supplies for GST and HST purposes, which means no tax is charged on those services. It also means a clinic is generally not entitled to claim input tax credits on the expenses used to provide them. We keep this in view as we categorize your costs, so your books line up with how the rules actually work.
